One of the issues when working with an system is that visual redesigns tend to render ‘How To’ blog posts obsolete pretty quickly.

Hopefully this on won’t stay obsolete too long. If you are trying to work out how to add a custom menu link to a Shopify menu and are getting frustrated, chances are it’s a UX issue.

Tantalisingly talks about being able to create menu links to external websites but when you try and do it you find it won’t work.

What you need to do is paste in the url (let’s use a link to the customer account page in this example);

Into the input field. Then, you need to wait for that link to be validated (possible sanitized through a backend filter) before the same url is available to click on. Only then can you add it.
